Thousands of postal workers are today pledging to vote ‘Yes’ in the union’s ballot for strike action against Royal Mail.

The CWU last week announced the national ballot over the employment, standard of living and retirement security of its postal members and the future strategic direction of the Royal Mail Group.

Today has been designated ‘National Gate Meeting Day’, when the union is asking for every single office in the UK to hold a members’ meeting.

A statement from the union said: “We know this will be logistically difficult but please try to organise as many as you can. We want to create a wave of CWU activity across the Country and ask you to post the images on social media using #RiseUp.”
